Screendance Works
Añorando
(2023)
"Añorando" is a screendance exploration of how people of color harness the power of magic for survival. This ritual performance invites viewers to immerse themselves in the visual currents of loss and memory, bridging the chasm between the present and the past. Inspired by the tragic murder of the filmmaker's aunt and the miscarriages of justice in Mexico's 90s judicial system, the film weaves together the sacred rituals that aid in our healing and reconnection with the invisible.
