ODDALYS SALCIDO

Oddalys Salcido is an emerging choreographic media artist born and raised on the internet and currently based in London. Their work finds interest in the possibility between movement, technology, and film. They are currently working with The Scottish Dance Theatre as a video artist for their show REcollect premiering in June. Their latest piece, PROXY, combines dance and film for a live performance that uses embodied cameras, live visual mixing, and livestreams casted onto the surfaces of multiple screens on stage. PROXY was shared at Studio Wayne Mcgregor in 2024 as part of the Fields Festival. Holding a master's degree in Screendance they teach as an associate lecturer on the MA in Screendance program at London Contemporary Dance School. Oddalys is the co-founder and director of PREHEAT, a dance and film festival based in Austin, Texas aimed at platforming local queer and POC artists. Rooted in dance and expanded through screendance, their work invites an urgent sense of play and rigor towards futures where radical tenderness is not only possible, but necessary.
